Macrame plant hanger is made from 4 mm durable natural white cotton rope. This plant stand can also can be made of black polypropylene braided cord. This pot holder is 33" (85cm) long from the top loop to the end of the basket not including the tassel. Total length wit tassel is 47'' (120 cm). ************* Recommended pot size is from 5" (12 cm) to 9" (22 cm) in diameter. The red pot on the photo is 8" (19cm) wide on the top, the blue pot is 6'' (15 cm) wide, the white pot is 5.5'' (14 cm) wide. The length of the hanger will vary depending on pot size you use. The BSCB was founded 1965 in order to promote the advancement of research in all branches of cell biology and to encourage the interchange of information. The Society organises a large annual conference each Spring and supports a number of other meetings across the UK relevant to cell biology. It helps promote the career development of young cell biologists and provides both travel funds for young researchers and summer research bursaries to undergraduates to work in BSCB member’s labs. The Society awards the Hooke Medal each year to a UK-based cell biologist who has made outstanding contributions to their field and since 2015 a medal to recognise outstanding female early career cell biologists. As of 2021, The Society now recognises up-and-coming young cell biologists with our new PhD and postdoc medals.

The BSCB runs annual competitions for cell biology imagery and science writing and also provides a range of highly popular informational resources for school pupils that are used across the globe. The BSCB plays an increasing role in raising awareness of science policy and funding issues in the UK.

The Society is supported by membership subscriptions and by a generous grant from The Company of Biologists, the publishers of the Journal of Cell Science, DevelopmentJournal of Experimental Biology and Disease Models and Mechanisms.
